New picture of Col. Fielding Hurst ???
I received the following picture via email from a HurstNation.com reader. She is the Great-great Niece of Fielding Hurst and comes from Fielding’s sister, Margaret. (Welcome aboard, cousin!)
This picture has been in her family for her whole life.

Does anyone have any clue about the uniform he is wearing in this picture? Could this have been his surveyor’s uniform? This is for sure from the Pre-”Demon Called Hurst” phase.
Her grandfather took this from his mother’s home (Margaret, Fielding’s Sister). She tells a great story of how this picture was cared for throughout the years and and how it was hung in a place of prominence in her family home when she was growing up. When certain sides of the family visited, the picture was actually taken down and hidden until the visit was over. Now that she has searched the web and learned of Fielding’s reputation, she knows that the picture was likely removed to avoid controversy.
