LONE SURVIVOR - The only home in “Old Purdy” which has withstood the ravages of time is the old Col. Fielding Hurst home. Today its occupants, Miss Bessie Dodds (left) and Miss Mary Dodds chop cotton in an adjoining field which once was the courthouse lawn.
